Bears Den Cottage:
07/28/08 My wife and I have just spent four nights at this delightful hideaway. The setting is indeed idyllic, with a huge variety of flowers in the garden, which is surrounded by enormous trees and attracts all manner of wildlife - huge butterflies, wild turkeys wandering past, hummingbirds, etc., etc. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay, including a luxurious hot tub. A car is essential, and it is true to say that a fair bit of driving is required to visit the many local attractions (The Biltmore Estate at Asheville is a must!), but it is worth it. Owners are great to deal with and were very helpful in making the arrangements for our stay. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting the area who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. - Ian & Janice, Hexham, Northumberland, UK

02/23/07 We had a wonderful time staying at Bear's Den! It was perfect for us and our dogs. The location is wonderful- close enough to Asheville to enjoy it but secluded enough to enjoy the peace of the mountains. GREAT hiking areas very close by also. The cabin itself had everything we needed and more- the fresh wildflowers are great! I used to live in the Asheville area and return often to visit. This is the best place we have stayed at and we have stayed at MANY places! We liked it so much we already booked it again. 12/20/06 My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at the cabin. It was peaceful, relaxing and private. It was also clean and well-stocked with everything we could possibly need. 07/15/06 We just returned yesterday from our trip to Bears Den, and cannot say enough about the fun and relaxation we shared there as a family-It was truly a vacation filled w/ many wonderful memories for us to share. The cabin was so comfortable and the atmosphere more peaceful than we could have imagined. Our children were so entertained by all the beauty and nature that surrounded them. Our dog was in heaven as he roamed around the yard and woods. Thank-you so much for making our first trip to the N. Carolina Mountains one we will never forget! 05/17/06 We want to thank you for sharing your home with us. Craig enjoyed every minute, especially the hammock by the creek! The property was amazing, Teddy had fun exploring as did the humans. The cottage was more beautiful than expected and very roomy. The kitchen felt bigger than mine at home and was so comfortable to cook in, we ate outside to listen to the creek every night. Sunrise Mountain Cottage:
07/07 This cottage is BETTER than what you see in the photos and descriptions. The linens and bedding were so comfortable we didn't want to leave! The proximity of the cottage to other area interests is ideal, as described and all amenities of the cottage were perfect. Hiking areas, golf, quaint towns and the Blue Ridge Parkway are only minutes from this location. The personal touches inside the cottage made it feel like our own home and the owners were good communicators about things to do in the area and were accommodating to us. The jacuzzi under the canopy of trees and stars made it an even more special retreat. We'd return and definitely recommend it to our friends! - Anonymous
04/01/07 The photos of the cabin are misleading as they can't picture its true character or ambiance. Instead of the typical copy-cat commercialized styles offered by many other rental companies, we walked into a quaint, cozy, comfortable, extra clean, roomy and neat model with all the warmth of "Grandma's house". This homey atmosphere was created using antique furnishings including the bed, dressing tables and armoire along with antique accessories such as the lush feather mattress, fluffy pillows, hand-made quilts and hand-knitted throws, and embroidered linens. We enjoyed our stay through a blend of simple living and all the amenities of modernization. - Dusty, Hanceville AL

05/27/07 Nature is amazing-saw cardinals, brown thrashers, bluejays, woodpeckers, hawks & robins. Also rabbits and groundhogs. So quiet here, slept like babies. Loved sitting in the hot tub starring up at the stars and fireflies. - Anonymous
